First pile for the new Ronald McDonald Huis Emma in Amsterdam has been struck!

Last Tuesday, Salverda Bouw struck the first pile for the Ronald McDonald Huis Emma in Amsterdam. This means that we are another step closer to opening the new, warm, home-like place for families of children being treated at the Emma Children’s Hospital. A home, both literally in form and symbolically.

This form of an archetypal house can be found in several places. For example, in the high transparent end wall with deep wooden slats, which shows a nice dynamic between transparency and security of this place to stay. On the garden side – at the back – the new main building consists of two separate house forms that symbolize the parent and the child.

The doors are expected to open and guests can use the house in the summer of 2024. Click here for more information about this project.
